Gemini in Gmail is going to have extended functionality for utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). On Wednesday, Google said that the Google Calendar application now connects to the corporation’s built-in AI program called Gemini. In this way, qualifying users are able to use Gem directly inside Gmail in order to pose Calendar-based queries to the users.
This means that from now on you can work directly with Google Calendar forms from your Gmail interface. They are questions like “When is my next meeting?” or request actions such as “Schedule a meeting with [person’s name], [date].”. This will be done by Gem, where your request will be processed and your calendar adjusted accordingly. This integration is meant to provide a better and easier way of organizing calendars.
Google says, to begin with, Gemini will not be an immediate addition to the Gmail/Google Calendar link. The search giant said it will introduce the feature in stages over the next few weeks; therefore, the deployment should be complete by December 6, 2024.
