Reports state that Apple was expected to provide Apple Intelligence AI features with more advancement to the customers only when the subscription was taken for it. The premium AI services get accessed when the users pay a certain cost for the utilization that lies between $10-$20, the predictions detect that the company could showcase its potential for the AI features with Apple One. this will allow the customers to access multiple services whether they are related to Apple Music or Apple News featuring many more options, with a single payment all the services become available for unlimited utilization. 

Therefore, to get access to various Apple services the, Apple One monthly plan starts from $19.95, with Family and Premier subscriptions also available. Furthermore, Apple announced its AI offerings at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2024. A variety of features are included in iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS such as,  Sequoia are an AI-boosted Siri, generative AI tools, an image generator, and ‘Genmoji’ along with a ChatGPT integration evolving this upgrade. 

The main point highlighted here is why Apple charges its customers for subscriptions to AI services, the reports describe that adding subscription fees to customers could lead to a boost in the business of the company’s lucrative services. Talking about Ben Wood, chief of research at CCS Insight, commented that Apple is one of those few companies that have their connected devices successfully monetized for the value it offers accessing its services.

Moreover, reports synchronized that Apple’s services division generated $24.2 billion in revenue, in the quarter of June. Neil Shah, partner at Counterpoint Research said, the cost could also be passed on to Apple customers because investment in AI is expensive. Understanding to which the customer would get the benefit of accessing an AI system that will offer a personalized experience to Apple users while monitoring their behavior and learning from it to have a proper AI utilization.

Also the words quoted by Shah explains, “ The beauty of AI is you use more and more, it learns about you and you get locked into the model itself because you can’t bring your model from Apple to Android. However, expectations reveal that later this year the paid access will roll out to all Apple devices, due to some regulatory issues, Europe and China won’t be able to get the availability of Apple Intelligence.
