Gemini Extensions

Gemini became more interested in AI-integrated applications. Google applications and some third-party applications are now a part of the Gemini Extension. Gemini AI focuses on more productivity while using the daily app on Android devices. It makes it more reliable and adaptable to Android users. Recently Gemini AI has access to 13 application extensions. Of these, four are third-party applications.

Now these extensions are rolling out gradually across the world. We are talking about four significant and common app extensions that users use in their daily lives. Here you can now learn how to use them, their capabilities, and how they work as well.

Message Extension

The Gemini Messages extension will integrate with your machine’s native messaging application to optimize text. This includes the generation of messages, the revising of messages, and even the rewording of messages.

Currently, the extension can analyze, but it cannot read or summarize messages. Likewise, with the phone extension enabled, a user can dial a number without physical contact with the device. The WhatsApp extension is somewhat of a combination of the former two, where from the Gemini assistant you can compose your messages and also make a call.

Phone Extension

The second one is the phone extension, and this one is needed to call without even having to grab the telephone and search for a call in the phone app. Being an open-source, voice-over-IP client, Gemini allows making calls close to natural conversation.

While you have the option of telling Gemini to call a certain contact, you can be as general as telling it to call, say, the nearest golf course or any business you can think of that is within the address directory.

WhatsApp Extension

The first third-party Gemini extension is here on WhatsApp. It means that with this integration, Gemini comes to your WhatsApp exactly as a tool that provides various calls and chat facilities. As with other applications, Gemini now lets you order it to call or message somebody using WhatsApp.

Gemini Utilities Extension on the Android app

Gemini has served well as an AI digital assistant, but what users feel is that they could have Google Assistant on their phones. In addition, last month Google started to release a Utilities Gemini extension that can do such tasks without involving Google Assistant, and now it has appeared in many homes. The extension allows you to open the camera click selfies and turn on/off some settings, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, flashlight, etc.

It can be accessed in the Gemini app by the users through the profile picture and then extending the tab to find Extension. If the Utilities extension is not visible, the users can also try to quit Gemini and reopen the app, which helped some of them. Once downloaded and run, the Utilities extension augments Gemini’s capabilities when installed and activated.

It helps the app perform multiple activities, and the user can even enter several functions at a stretch. It is now much easier to make corrections than in previous instances when using Google Assistant. Pixel users also get the experience of integration with the Pixel Screenshots application.

Users can now instruct the Gemini app to perform the following tasks even when the screen is locked:

  • Set and silence alarms.
  • Set and stop timers.
  • Switch on/off other features that include Flashlight, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, and Battery Saver.
  • Make sure that the volume of the device and the battery status of the device are good.
  • How to get help: Power off and restart your device.
  • Click a photo or take a screenshot.
  • Control media options such as play, pause, or rewind.

The commands of the new Gemini app control can take several actions at once. For instance, muting the volume while activating the battery saver can be done with a single verbal cue to the Gemini AI Utilities extension.
