Meta plans to introduce new image-generation features in WhatsApp that will enable you to create AI-powered avatars. Meta has also begun implementing its AI chatbot known as Meta AI in WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger.
This chatbot can create images, which can be downloaded. They can also call it in groups and request it to plan trips or ask about the trip assignment.
The report also notes that this feature has to be turned on in settings to make it work. Moreover, the reference images can also be removed anytime from the Meta AI settings. It is not clear whether the feature will be available yet.
This command may also be used in other chats by typing “@Meta AI imagine me.” Meta AI will process this command as an independent input from other messages to preserve the user’s privacy. The generated image will be automatically posted in the conversation.
The “Imagine Me” feature is still being worked on and should be released along with an update for WhatsApp in the coming days.
Imagine Me Feature
The ‘Imagine Me’ feature will reportedly be off by default and only works in WhatsApp once it is activated through settings. This tool will also provide users with customizable backgrounds and locations like forests, space, etc for their profile icons.
This feature could add to typical profile pictures by allowing the users to add an AI-generated avatar to their profile picture. Moreover, according to WABetaInfo, it found that this future AI-based feature named ‘Imagine Me’ would be available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.
