Google has released the new Gemini 2.0 AI model which is easily the most sophisticated model it has ever developed, as the company stands to face a potential US regulation severance.

Google claimed the latest AI model in Wednesday’s blog post signed by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Google Deepmind CEO Hassabis, and Deepmind CTO Kavukcuoglu. Regarding specific models, we are unleashing an experimental branch of Gemini 2.0 Flash – our heavy-working boasting of low latency and improved speed.

This model can be deployed by developers to begin constructing in the Gemini API through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Gemini and Gemini Advanced users worldwide can experiment with a chat-enhanced version of Gemini 2.0 by choosing it in the model menu on the desktop.

With such new advancements in multimodality such as native image and audio output and native tool use it will then allow us to build new AI agents to get us to a universal AI agent or assistant.

Google is to release Gemini 2.0 to developers and a few selected testers today. And we’re moving fast to integrate it and we’re starting with Gemini and then Search. Beginning today, all Gemini users can test a new experimental model of Gemini 2.0 Flash.

So we also have a new feature called Deep Research to be introduced soon which has reasoning and long context processing capabilities with the intent of being a research tool to look up subjects and provide research reports. It’s out there in Gemini Advanced now.

Gemini users can now try the experimental new release of Gemini 2.0 Flash, a chat-optimized version of Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental that proves to be faster on numerous benchmarks and at speed. With this new model, a more useful Gemini assistant is going to unfreeze in Gemini 2.0. Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental can be found in the Gemini model drop-down on both desktop and mobile web and will be making its appearance in the Gemini mobile app shortly.
