The YouTube Music extension enables users to search for songs, trigger radio, and much more from the Gemini AI chatbot. The same is expected from the Spotify integration as well.

As reported by the Android Authority, there is a hidden code in the latest update of the Google Android app. It is known by the code name “Robin”. It not only mentions Gemini but also mentions Spotify and functionalities like playing music and signing into the Spotify account. The Google app builds 15. 22. 28. 29 and 15. 22. 29. 29 mention the code.
During the app teardown, the publication identified strings of code that pointed towards the existence of the feature. It also seems that the users may be able to log into their Spotify account via the Gemini AI assistant. If the efforts are successful, the Spotify extension will initially be deployed to beta testers, before a stable version is rolled out. The entire process could easily take months. Thus, although it is clear that Google is working on the code within the Google app, it is doubtful that we will see the feature any time soon.
If it gets the extension then Spotify will also support a number of commands. With Gemini, users can ask to play music by a song, an album, an artist, a playlist, a genre, etc. For instance, a user may ask the device to say “Play me rock music radio” or “Play music that I like” and the device plays a Liked Music playlist.
