Snapdragon 8 Elite

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Iqonic Vision opens this platform with innovative solutions like Qualcomm Oryon CPU 2 generation, created from scratch, Islational, a new graphic processor Qualcomm® Adreno™, and intensifying a new deep learning processor Qualcomm® Hexagon™ NPU, all of them being of great difference concerning previous models in terms of processing performance.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Prominent AI features

The AI Portrait Video Re-Lighting feature and what this does is simulate a ring light so you look good during a video call. It is done in real-time and, as Qualcomm said, there is no delay here. It could therefore be the perfect partner to the AI features Samsung has already been integrating into its Galaxy phones.

AI Portrait Video Re-Lighting is going to be useful when dealing with an overexposed background that makes your face too dark. It provides a virtual light source that can be adjusted to provide the best lighting for a person’s face, and the settings can be adjusted manually or controlled by the AI.

Other new enhancements found in the Snapdragon 8 Elite are ISP enhancements. The ISP on the chipset can be harnessed for AI execution, such as identifying faces or hair or clothes, objects, and even the background more effectively. The system ‘understands’ the configuration of your face and applies the illumination to imitate a real, physical ring light; in demos, it seems to perform the exact task that a ring light can do.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite for AI workloads features an integrated Qualcomm AI Engine that consists of the CPU, GPU, and NPU. Qualcomm added that the newly introduced Hexagon NPU presents 45% enhancements in AI performance and 45% better efficiency per watt, as well as multi-modal generative AI execution that takes place on the device.

It also fuels Qualcomm’s “AI ISP” (image signal processor), which provides AI experiences including Semantic Segmentation at 4K and an on-video eraser, which removes unwanted objects in videos.
The latest Adreno GPU provides an up to 40per cent orange performance boost and up to 40 percent better power efficiency The advantage of Adreno GPU’s sliced architecture is to provide incredible earthquake elements and realistic surroundings.

The last Snapdragon 8 Elite Gaming feature enables smartphones to support Unreal Engine 5.3 with Nanite, which generates film-quality interactive 3D environments, letting one immerse oneself in the handset. The latest version of Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine, which is the Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 aims at enhancing the power efficiency of the device and this is expected to be achieved through optimally choosing the game-thread scheduling strategy on every snapdragon platform and architecture.
