Selected One UI 6 Galaxy Watch Features To Work On All Android Phones

Samsung stated more AI features for the Galaxy this week, and the new Watch AI features should work with other Android phones but Samsung is still suggesting it might can start charging for AI in the future.

Some of the features, for instance, Energy Score and Wellness Guide, are only available on Android devices running on Android 10 or later if the Samsung Health app version is 6 or above. 27 or higher. This means that Galaxy Watch owners can make use of these features irrespective of the phone brand they use.

Samsung has previewed several new AI features coming to the Galaxy Watch with the One UI Watch 6 update based on Wear OS 5 due out. All new features are health-oriented – a big surprise – but some interesting bits are outside the welcome tablet announcement.

Samsung states that the Energy Score and Wellness Guide features of Galaxy AI for Galaxy Watches will operate with all Android smartphones with Android OS 10 and higher versions of the OS and the Samsung Health application version 6.27 and newer versions of the app.

In a footnote in its announcement post for the upcoming Galaxy Watch AI features, Samsung once again reminds us that Galaxy AI features will be paid for eventually. As was the case in the past, the company claims that it will remain free until at least the end of 2025

However, some special features like the new heart rate readings will only be available for Samsung phones. This may be disappointing for Galaxy Watch owners who use phones from other manufacturers. To date, Samsung has not disclosed details on the workout mode or if Sleep Insights will be compatible with devices from other manufacturers.
