Android Authority claims that Google plans to increase the speed and accuracy of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in Pixel 9. It would remove the optical under-display fingerprint that Google used on the Pixel 6 with the newer tech that can read even wet, oily fingerprints.
Pixel 9 to get the same sensor as S24 Ultra?
The Qualcomm 3D Sonic Gen 2 (QFS4008) fingerprint sensor, which is used in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, will be incorporated into all Google Pixel 9 devices. In contrast, the Pixel Fold will still incorporate the fingerprint sensor in the power button.
Major leaks of the upcoming Pixel 9 model
New leaked images of the long-awaited Google Pixel 9 surfaced online, and a user from Algeria brought a functional Pixel 9 in a rather shocking pink color.
The leaked videos reveal the Pixel 9 in a brand new colour which seems to have been inspired by the peony flower. With this soft pink shade, Google offers a new color option compared to its typical monochromatic color scheme of Pixel phones.
The new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is here and it will grace every other Pixel 9 except for the Fold which retains its fingerprint scanner at the power button.
Google has since come out to reveal that the Pixel 9 series will officially be launched on August 13, so there is still a little while to go.
Google Pixel 9 Specifications
Pixel 9 has 256GB of memory, which makes it possible that it is an actual product and not just a prototype. This revelation has also given rise to rumors regarding the improved hardware capabilities to be seen in the Pixel 9 series.
Past leaks have suggested that the base Pixel 9 model could be upgraded to as much as 12GB of RAM – a dramatic increase over the previous 8GB. This increase in memory had the potential to greatly increase multitasking and overall performance.
