According to the android authority, OnePlus is developing an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that will enable users to transcribe voice notes to text. This has been noticed in the latest OxygenOS build, the company’s custom Android skin. Some are said to support multiple audio formats. It is currently hidden and those who joined the beta program cannot try it. Notably, one of the code strings listed India as one of the countries where the feature could initially launch.
OnePlus AI Voice Recording Summaries Feature
It seems that Summarizer will only support audio that is in the following formats: MP3, AMR, AWB, AAC, and WAV. Another restriction is that sound recordings cannot exceed 500MB. Summarizer works on the principle that if a recording is deemed to be too long, it will only provide a partial summary. Alternatively, if a sound recording is brief, then no summary will be generated at all. You will also not be able to record summaries if you have put your phone on Super power saving mode.
The code strings also shed some light on the so-called functionality of the malware. For instance, the “AI Voice Recording Summary” feature accepts MP3, AMR, AWB, AAC, and WAV audio formats in line with the “convert_error_format” string.
The publication also found strings of code referring to the feature in the Android 15 Developer Preview 2. It is said that there are three languages mentioned, including Chinese, Hindi, and English, which means that the AI Voice Recording Summary feature may first be launched in China, India, and the United States, according to the report.
