iOS 18.1 update
In this update, the following seven Siri developers are mentioned as the first generation of Apple Intelligence features: Writing Tools, which allow users to edit text with proofreading and rewriting options, and Smart Replies, which can be used to reply to messages quickly.
Notification Summaries to quickly receive an email summary, Cleaning Photos that can be used to remove the reflection of the room, and redesign of Siri. You’ll also get these experiences on an iPad or Mac thanks to iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which started shipping today.
Complete Apple Intelligence Features
Other Al features include writing and summary tools, which only function on Apple first-party apps like iMessage, Mail, Notes, etc. Photos also have a ‘Clean Up’ button that allows users to erase unwanted objects or persons from the photo. However, depending on the features you have seen on Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy devices, it is still far from that and not that polished.
Systematically embedded in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, Writing Tools help users edit their language by rewriting, proofreading, and absorbing text across the apps they write in most frequently, like Mail, Messages, Notes, Pages, and beyond.
The generative Apple Intelligence features—Genmoji, Image Playground, and Siri integration with ChatGPT—will follow in iOS 18.2 later this year. Owners of the best iPhone, iPhone 16, will also be supported on iOS 18.2, with the ability to use the camera control for Visual Intelligence.
Siri directly blends into the whole OS experience, becoming more natural, supple, intelligent, and essential. A freshly minted look with a slim luminous bar that outlines the edge of the screen when used on iPhone, iPad, or CarPlay. In Mac, users can put Siri at any position on their desktop and they can reach it throughout their activities.
Memories now offer more opportunities to develop movies that people want to watch by typing the description. The Mail app finally gets a much-needed update in iOS 18.1, with Apple Intelligence used to identify the most urgent messages.
The Photos app will also be greatly overhauled in iOS 18 to enable users to search for their favorite moments within still images and videos. Additionally, it brings a new Focus Mode, ‘Reduce interruptions, ’ that uses AI to understand what notifications are sent to iPhones, and only the really important ones that can disrupt a focused user.
