Google has begun beta testing a new feature in its Google Photos application, Gemini-AI featured “Ask Photos.”. Most probably the feature is going to enable users to work with their photos more smartly with the help of Al tools.
The “Ask Photos” feature was first unveiled at Google 1/0 2024 in May. In September, the tech company made the feature more accessible by reportedly opening a waiting list for those wishing to use the feature; it required registered users to fill in a form on Google’s website.
Google Gemini Ask Photos AI Feature
Ask Photos lets users ask questions in natural language through their Google Photos and using Google’s Gemini Al models. Depending on the content of the photos, the app will recommend results, and the photo most similar to that answer will be shown. It also allows for the search for people, pets, and much more.
As soon as it’s implemented the feature will be available during use of the account across devices, including the Android and iOS apps. As per source, 9to5Google pointed out, this new tab will occupy the location of the Search tab in the Photos application at the bottom, but unlike the search, this is a separate Ask Photos with further access to the classic search after using this tab.
It is said to let its users ask different directions on their photos. It may sometimes name it, recommend other activities associated with it or even point out consequent details of an image.
Specifically, when the user poses questions, the other question will be responded to according to the content of the photos, and the corresponding picture will also be recommended. The feature will also enable users to search for people, pets, and other items of interest.
