Recently Gemini Live is rolled out with customizable voices feature to free android users. Now ChatGPT has been making waves online and in an update to its service, free users will get to try out its impressive Advanced Voice mode. This limited preview was revealed during the company’s Dev Day in San Francisco and will give anyone outside of a subscription a peek into how they’re advertising this as different from basic voice.
Advanced Voice Mode Now Free For ChatGPT Users
Open Al stated its Advanced Voice mode would be deployed to the international ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Edu, and Team users. But the free users would also be able to get the limited functions of the ChatGPT Advanced Mode. Free users will also be able to sample Advanced Voice, The Al company explained.
What sets Advanced Voice apart from the free version or even Google’s new Gemini Live is the fact that it is native speech-to-speech. In essence, what this implies is rather than converting the words you speak into text, analyzing that text, and then converting it back into speech, it can just hear what you are saying and actually capture things like the tone of your voice or your emotional nature.
OpenAI has a primary financial goal of expanding revenue. A recent report even suggested that there could be a new price increase in ChatGPT Plus this year. ChatGPT is great and available to try individually, but it’s worth mentioning that developers can leverage AI tools by using the ChatGPT APIs. DevDay 2024 was about that.
It is also not shocking that Advanced Voice Mode is available in the Free tier. In the case of OpenAI, it may be able to turn other users into paying clients. But Google made Gemini Live available to any Android app, which is what Advanced Voice Mode is to Gemini.
OpenAI also said, “We will continue to keep Free and Plus ChatGPT users in the EU updated.” Saying that there is still no Advanced Voice Mode in the block in sight yet. To get this feature users must have updated with latest version of app.
