Huawei goes out to impress its fans by introducing the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design which the company dubbed as the world’s first tri-fold AI smartphone with three large screens made of glass. This is also the first time the company introduced the Tiangong hinge system where the smartphone not only bends the external shell but also its internal components with great ease.
It includes an installed slim rod structure between the hinges so that the tri-fold smartphone will not occupy much space. The integration of the rod assists the design team in slimming the smartphone, thus even with three displays, it will feel like having one and it is when folded. Pre-orders of the triple-folding smartphone are now open and the product is expected to be in the market on 20 September 2024.
Specifications of Huawei Mate XT
- The Huawei Mate XT sports a 6.4-inch single screen when folded, a 7.9-inch 2K dual display, and a large 10.2-inch tablet screen with a 3K resolution.
- While fully extended, the device can be as thin as 6mm, that’s how slim it is.
- Huawei has not shared the chip that is at the heart of Mate XT Ultimate Edition. The chip of the device might be the in-house developed Kirin 9010 and the phone comes equipped with HarmonyOS 4. 2.
- It is disappointing that the company has not provided details as to which chipset it uses but it could be a Kirin SoC.
- The Huawei Mate XT aspect ratio is as follows: Cameras Primary Camera: 50 MP, OIS, f/ štill, Telephoto Camera: 12 MP, f/ 2. 4-f/4. No variable aperture, 12 MP of ultra-wide range, and 12 MP periscope telephoto with 5x. 5x zoom and OIS. On the front panel, we have an 8MP sensor for the user to take selfies and make video calls.
- Inside it has a 5,600mAh battery with fast charging 66W through USB and wireless charging 50W.
- Further connectivity options are provided by 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, as well as Bluetooth 5. 2 LE, GPS, NavIC, NFC, and USB 3. 1 Type-C.
Huawei Mate XT Screen features
- Single-screen handheld (6. 4”) is appropriate for running day-to-day errands.
- The use of a second screen (7.9”) is most appropriate while browsing the internet or reading.
- Triple-screen (10. 2”) is ideal for detail-oriented tasks and reading and improves productivity applications and base functions such as email, navigation between windows, and artificial intelligence embedded in the device.
- Huawei also came up with the name of the hinge system for the Mate XT as Tiangong Space Station for both internal and external bends.
Major AI features
The Huawei Mate XT also employs a new Xiaoyi voice assistant, called Celia. Some of the uses AI in this application involve voice-to-text, auto split view, real-time document translation, and image enhancement.
