Over the years, Samsung Galaxy AI has literally evolved many of its AI features into Galaxy Devices, starting with smartphones, smartwatches, and Galaxy Buds.
Samsung Galaxy AI features
Samsung Galaxy AI features include Circle to Search, AI Summarization, Chat Assist, Magic Compose, Live Translate, Instant Slow-mo, Generative AI Wallpapers, Generative Edit, and more.
Circle to Search:
Search has been the backbone of users’ interaction with the internet and in more than twenty years; Samsung and Google have revolutionized how people search. Come across something interesting while browsing Instagram Reels, a website, or even a picture. That’s it, just draw a circle around it and Samsung Galaxy AI will show information concerning it, even if you want to know more about a product, place or even a piece of art.
There is also a new feature Google and Samsung Galaxy AI called “Circle to Search” which combines Google Lens and text search and this is done by pressing the home button. Turn on Circle to Search by going to —Settings > Display > Navigation bar > and then turning on the “Circle to Search.”
Live Translate:
On a trip to a foreign state or using social media to converse with your friends from other countries? Language barrier in your case will not be an issue that you would have to contend with. For voice calls as well as text messaging, you will be able to converse in real-time translations. This Samsung Galaxy AI Live Translate feature applies across apps such as the dialer for phone calls, voice recorder, text, and instant messaging apps including, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, etc.
Since the live translate feature is integrated into the keyboard app the third-party apps can be ruled out. With Samsung Internet Browser, you can also translate whole page content to make the read in a comfortable to you language.
AI Summarization:
No time to read through lengthy texts and articles or to watch/listen to long video or audio transcripts? The models perform excellently on Web Browsing on Samsung’s Internet Browser app, the Note-taking app Samsung Notes, and the Voice Recording app. For the users, there will be a new Galaxy AI Star Icon in the browser tab of these apps which when clicked will give a quick, short, or detailed summary of the text in just some bullet point format.
On the other hand, the Voice Recorder can also be used in transcribing the voice to text which is also possible even when offline. Samsung Notes app gives the user the option of a few bullet pointed to get an overview of the notes. It can as well spell-check and translate text for the Galaxy.
Chat Assist:
Samsung Galaxy AI Chat Assist improves messaging on different platforms, including tone settings, spell and grammar checks, and others. Since these features are a part of hybrid AI, this means that they require an internet connection to operate.
This way the users can enhance their writing style and chose the type of language they want to use which may be professional, casual, polite or even with emojis. It can turn out to be quite beneficial when dealing with business related message exchanges with your employer, your co-workers, your friends and even your close relatives. Another thing that users can also do using AI is to do a quick spell and grammar check.
Magic Compose:
In the case of Messaging as self-expression, Magic Compose can provide present and previously learned personalized, contextual, and AI-composed responses for text messages. When a user opens a new message on the messaging app the user will see a floating icon like a pencil with sparkles when the user takes the time to touch it, it will provide an option of the Magic Compose.
This means that the users can always modify the style of the auto-generated replies until they get the right words that will fit the tone. All this takes place within the devices and the auto-compose features will operate even when there is no connectivity.
Generative Edit:
It’s time to let your creativity and photo editing sorcery out with the help of AI editing. The Generative Edit is one of the most unique Samsung Galaxy AI features of the entire Galaxy S24 line. When combined with Google’s Imagen 2 text-to-image diffusion technology on the Vertex AI platform, Generative Edit offers some nifty and genuinely easy photo-editing experience akin to the Magic Eraser on Google and Generative Fill on Adobe.
Just open the Gallery App > Zoom the photo > Tap on the edit button > Then select Generative Edit that is the blue circle with three stars on it. Then, using your finger (or S Pen) tap the chosen subject, and then, scroll the glass or delete it.
Instant Slow-mo:
This Samsung Galaxy AI-based GenAI feature just like the name suggests enables you to slow down your normal videos by applying the slow-motion effects. It does this to videos captured in 720p to 4K quality by using generative AI to generate new frames that are missing between existing frames. The interface of the Gallery App is very easy to use, where a user needs to tap and hold the video to know what the effect is going to be like, then tap the edit button and then select the area that requires slowing, set the speed, and then save the video.
More to that for videos shot at 30fps one can slow down the footage to half or one quarter while for videos recorded at 60fps, they can be slowed down to up to one-eighth slowly.
Samsung Galaxy AI: Generative AI Wallpapers:
Now with Samsung Galaxy AI generative AI, a user can create a wallpaper of his/her choice out of sets that have been developed with different themes including Imaginary, Mineral, Terrain, Painting, and so on.
For the text prompts, the users are free to have all the fantasized interpretations but the text prompts cannot be modified from the provided set. Nevertheless, there are enough keywords and themes in the equipment category that will produce rather interesting wallpapers. The Generative Wallpapers can be made if one navigates to Settings > Wallpaper and Style> Change Wallpapers > Generative (which is found in the creative tab).
