Google Gemini has at last permitted the users to trigger Google Assistant routines through the app. However, they are not completely liberal and there are certain limitations which have been explained below. After the release of the Gemini Android app in February users were irritated that their set Google Assistant routines did not integrate with it. However, the feature has at last made a return in a new update, and Google Gemini can now set routines through the app.
Google Assistant Routines can now be started via the Gemini Assistant
Voice command can be used to start a Routine when Gemini is the default assistant for a smartphone. Yet the companion AI capacity is not fully extended to all the starters or actions in the Routines. This includes the triggers that are set to start at a particular time, actions such as playing music/radio, and among the things that are not achievable include keying in the command to create a Google Assistant Routines on Gemini.
First of all, some basic starters that are used ordinarily in the operation of particular activities and actions are not in the Gemini app. Secondly, users cannot activate routines with the typed commands, the specific time, based on the location, and the home screen shortcuts. Last but not least; gestures such as playing music, sharing fitness data, or reciting poems are not doable at the moment.
Google Gemini has seldom been the best choice in terms of AI and it has been far surpassed by OpenAI’s ‘ChatGPT’. However, Gemini Nano is particularly heavy in the new Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold to support the plethora of AI innovations on this model with the Pro models gaining access to the more robust Gemini Advanced and the new Gemini Live.
Google also pointed out that some of the starters, and actions don’t work well in Gemini. Some unsupported starters are starting Google Assistant Routines using typed commands, starting routines at specified times during the day for example at sunrise or sunset or even at the specified place, and using home-screen icons. At the same time, Google defines additional actions that are forbidden: playing music/radio/podcasts, sharing fitness and sleep stats, and sharing poems/quotes.
