Google Pixel

Developing the perspectives for the Google Pixel 9 series, the previews of new features on the way go on. There were rumors about that hint towards a launch still with Android 14 and possibly delayed Android 15. Thus, in particular, things are focussed on the renewed call filtering, which a new icon will soon join in Gemini’s style. So, we can say that Google will bring the Gemini Calling feature to Pixel 9 series

Google has also released some devices with Gemini renewed call filters. They can be Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Plus, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold; all of which have been slated for launch on August 13, 2024. Many of these gadgets will get not only Android 15 but also such features as the weather application. Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold which will be presented in several days at the event on August 13, 2024, will not be equipped with the new version of Android, surprisingly. Ideally, Android 14 should be present on all four models and Android 15 should be an update on them.

What is the Calling feature and how to access it?

As you probably know, there is a feature on Google smartphones to filter calls before answering, it enables you to employ Google Assistant to screen and even potentially filter out undesired calls including spam calls or those from unknown numbers. To use it, you need to open the app, then go to the upper right to find 3 dots then go to – settings > call filter > to enable – Filter calls automatically, then set the security level between basic, Medium, or Maximum. Stemming from this, the feature in question will be activated.

Stating from Gemini, AssembleDebug has reported that Google will now let filter calls before answering on your smartphone and this will help block and avoid spam and unknown numbers, which are usually annoying, using Google Assistant.

Combining Gemini with a call filter associated with an Android operating system can be very helpful to users and will avoid fraud. This has been done by replacing the ‘Add Note’ button with the icon that originates from Google Assistant; and differentiation of the line that makes use of Gemini’s AI.

This is in the “transition” that Google seems to be making especially with the passage of Assistant to Gemini. It will probably be a change that will be introduced on the server side and also on the other smartphones of the Google Pixel series in the following weeks. To find out more we will only have to wait a few days: specifically, the Made by Google event will take place on August 13.
