iOS 18

Apple CEO Tim Cook on Thursday said that ChatGPT would be rolled out on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia “by the end of this calendar year,” he said during Apple’s quarterly earnings call with analysts. It would be possible that Apple announces iOS 18 to include ChatGPT integration.

During the Apple WWDC keynote in June, Apple said that ChatGPT support will be available on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac later this year; and based on the company’s CEO comment during the first week of August, this is still the expected timeline.

Apple to bring ChatGPT to its devices in iOS 18

Siri will then be able to display ChatGPT answers right from the prompt and questions with the permission of the user. Writing Tools is another feature that will also be operating in the system; therefore, ChatGPT will facilitate the generation of writes and images. Apple revealed that ChatGPT will be based on the new OpenAI’s GPT-4o model in applications.

iPad, iPhone, and Mac users will be able to use ChatGPT for free and without registration and those who are subscribers of ChatGPT Plus can link the accounts to using paid services on these gadgets. Apple assured that OpenAI will not store ChatGPT requests made from its devices; it also stated that it will hide the users’ IP addresses.

Thus, Apple Intelligence features began to be introduced to developers in the beta version of iOS 18. 1 beta earlier this week, although ChatGPT was not introduced at that time.

Apple Intelligence to enhance the iPhones more, when to expect?

Specific components of Apple Intelligence work with an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, or a Mac or iPad with an M1 chip or later. The language of the device must be set to U. S. English with other languages promised to be incorporated in the next year.

The complete range of functions of the Apple Intelligence application should be implemented by the time IOS 18. 4 becomes available to the public in March 2025. With these features, users shall be able to get a summarization of the text, notification, and email prioritization, and even creating own unique emoji and images.
