After the smartphone, OnePlus might be incorporating a versatile new AI-powered Calling feature into its wireless OnePlus Buds to create AI call summaries as identified in an APK analysis.
The analysis performed by the folks at Android Authority of the APK shows that there is a new Call Summary via AI which can be done through the OnePlus wireless earphones. They are seen through the OnePlus Buds app labeled with the 14.8.2 version.
OnePlus Buds AI Call-summaries Feature
From the above, the publication seems to have facilitated the user control of the so-called feature through which users are supposed to be able to start or stop call summarization using earbuds. To activate AI summary, users are supposed to press the stem of their compatible OnePlus Buds thrice and this can lead to the summary of calls.
Another snapshot that the publication posted points that the feature might be named the ‘AI Call Assistant’. Maybe the users can switch between the two by tapping the stem of the OnePlus Buds three times. However, according to the report, only those smartphones that belong to OnePlus that have a feature to support the AI summary function will be able to control it through the TWS earphones.
As if this is not enough, users need to know that the supported OnePlus phone, either for some reason, is in power-saving mode, meditation mode, or children’s space mode, the AI summary mode may not work as expected. Besides that, regarding the next scheduled calls, AI summaries are also applicable for online meetings held through supported third-party applications.
When and in which device we can expect the rollout?
Finally, as Android Authority also points out, the compatible OnePlus Buds mentioned are probably going to be the upcoming OnePlus Buds Pro 3. Whether it would be introduced in old models was also ambiguous to the audience.
Like most features discovered during an APK teardown, this feature could or could not make it into the version of the application that users download. Although the feature is to this date still in the testing phase, this would be of great help especially for OnePlus users to be able to extract agendas, places, and other significant items discussed on a call.
