Galaxy Ring

When Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy Ring early this month as a smart wearable device, many thought it would only be compatible with Samsung-branded phones and this was supported by press releases. But essentially, it appears that this is not so. Looking at the Galaxy Ring, one would expect it to pair with all the Android phones and outdo them all, as long as they were running Android 11.

Galaxy Ring

Samsung Galaxy Ring was announced at Samsung Unpacked 2024 also on July 10. This is the first smart ring from the company and will log the night’s sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, skin temperature, and workouts and our AI analysis within the Samsung Health app.

You can synchronize your Galaxy Ring to even non-Samsung Android phone devices. But your phone must meet these requirements:

  • Operating system – Android 11 or higher
  • Storage – At least 1. 5GB RAM
  • Must have – Mobile applications (like Google Play Store, and Google Play services)

Step-by-Step process to connect your Android phone to Galaxy Ring

  • First, download and install two applications, namely, Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health from the Android phone.
  • Switch on Bluetooth on your Smartphone.
  • Open now the Galaxy Ring case, and a popup on the phone will appear. If you did not get the pop-up press the charging case’s multipurpose button for 3 seconds.
  • Press on the Connect link in the pop-up on your phone.
  • You can also initiate the connection on Galaxy Wearable app > Menu > New Device > Your Galaxy Ring.
  • Here you can click on sign in. Here, log in Samsung account. You will get an opportunity to sign up if you do not have an account with the platform.
  • Wait for the process to be finished and Galaxy Ring will be connected to your smartphone.

It will then request permissions that are necessary to monitor your health and fitness. Sustain them, and permit the ones that you are okay with. Unlike in mathematical problems, where you are restricted by the numbers and other symbols, with words, you can leave out unimportant things.

Pairing to a new smartphone

You can use your Galaxy Ring to connect to the new Smartphone at any time you want. However, to pair to a new device, there are other steps to be followed which include;

  • If you would like to connect with a new smartphone, first of all, you have to synchronize with Galaxy Ring data. This has noble reason specifically if you do not want to lose data that has been tracked with the Galaxy Ring. A
  • After synchronizing or backing up your Galaxy Ring, you can reset your Galaxy Ring by going to the Galaxy Wearable App > Main > Reset > Reset.

After getting the new Android phone, yes, the new smartphone, uses the same pairing method to link the Galaxy Ring. This time when you log in your backed-up data will be transparently recovered in the background.
