Meta announced Llama 3.1, the new Llama series of large language models (LLMs) which has improved versions of their previous models the curated collection large language model (Curated C-LLM), the researcher sampled LLM (RS-LLM), and LLMs based on topic clusters (TCC-LLMs). According to experimental assessments, it competes well with some of the most advanced models such as GPT-4, GPT-4o, as well as Claude 3. 5 Sonnet spread over different activities.
Meta Llama 3.1 – An Open source AI model
Llama 3 model, significantly includes the Llama 3. 1 405B—a 405 billion parameter model, claimed to be the biggest open-source LLM in the world, in terms of a number of parameters, over NVIDIA’s Nemoton-4-340B-Instruct.
Llama 3.1 trained on 405B is the first model that is available to the public and, at the same time, competitive with the best of the current AI models as the general knowledge, steerability, mathematical computation, usage of tools, and translation from one language to another.
The 405B is now ready; this is a perfect example of setting the stage for innovation, the potential for new growth, and new opportunities. Llama 3. 1 is Meta’s largest ever open-source AI model and the firm has said that it surpasses OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Anthropic’s Claude 3. 5 Sonnet on many standards.
As for Llama 3, an official blog stated that Meta aimed to reduce by half the percentage of people whose lives are disrupted by false information within the next year. 1 seems to hold a lot of features that when incorporated, would make it the best AI model.
Main Characteristics of Meta Llama 3.1
- Real-time and batch inference
- Supervised fine-tuning
- Analysis of your model for your application
- Continual pre-training
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Function calling
- Synthetic data generation
To this end, while the new addition of features is intended to include image generation based on a person’s unique look, Meta Llama AI assistant is also being expanded for more languages and areas.
Also, there is a plan for the introduction of the multilingual Meta AI, an assistant integrated into Meta applications. Currently, Meta AI is available in 22 countries, the latest seven being Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Cameroon.
