Pro Search

The Pro Search feature recently updated by Perplexity, an Artificial Intelligence-based search startup is now available for Android. The new Pro Search has multi-step reasoning that allows the AI to solve complex queries by linking them together for better results.

This feature was first revealed for web and iOS only last week and now it has been introduced in the Android application as well.

The report provided evidence that the improved Pro Search feature only operated correctly with an IP address in the United States, indicating that the company might gradually deploy the advanced feature in other countries.

Highlights of the Pro Search feature

Pro Search is capable of determining when it has to perform sub-searches on its own. It also preferentially seeks more sources than Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.

It is good news for comprehensiveness but it means that its responses are slower than those of other chatbots and basic Google searches. Users can switch Pro Search on by looking below the text field where there can be a new Pro button.

Regarding math and programming enhancements, Pro Search is “now faster and more powerful for data analysis, debugging, and content generation. Turning it on will enable the feature and users can proceed to ask questions that would normally require further searches.

As before, you can perform the first 5 Perplexity Pro searches every 4 hours for free; all subsequent queries will cost you $20 per month, or you can opt for less comprehensive “quick” searches instead.
