Nothing Phone (2)

The CMF Phone 1  has finally gone official with the latest Android 14-based Nothing OS 2. 6 update which is rich in some brand new features. Of course, it is not as feature-rich as Nothing OS 2. 5, of course, all the quality-of-life features that it provides have amazed me a lot.

One would anticipate that the brand will release Nothing OS 2. 6 to its other devices as well. Therefore, the following are what I consider to be the best new Nothing OS 2. 6 features, and below are features:

Gaming feature for faster responsive

The new Game Mode can be found in the System section of the Settings menu.

  • Game List Management to include or exclude games where the mode will come into play.

  • The game sidebar displays performance mode, locks brightness, records screen, and manages calls and notifications while you are gaming.

  • Mistouch Prevention to minimize chances of contact that may disrupt the game-playing process.

  • Incoming Call Intelligent Anti Disconnection which can disconnect the calls within 5-10 seconds to avoid any interruption in the games.

  • Game Dashboard to conveniently access all the games on the phone that are installed.

Pop-up feature for managing apps

The new pop-up view In the recent apps view, you can swipe up and release any app at the top to view it in the pop-up view. You can then drag this pop-up to any part of the screen and use applications below it at the same time.

The Pop-up view also has a toggle for enabling the expansion of incoming notifications into the pop-up view when swiping down on them. The pop-up view in Nothing OS 2. 6 can be found in the Settings -> System menu.

AI Vivid camera feature

In the standard photo mode in the Camera app, there will be an icon at the top of the app. Clicking on this new icon takes you to two new choices – Natural Mode and Vivid Mode.

The Vivid Mode employs AI to determine what the viewfinder of the phone is looking at, the light source, the object, the subject, the foreground, and the background, among others.

Then, it informs you the kind of processing it will do in that context and conditions. Here, you can decide whether you need these changes or not to be applied.

Highly battery-withstanding capability

The new Nothing OS 2. 6 update brings a much-needed Battery Health feature as well. Before this, under Settings -> Battery, there was just one Battery health switch that enabled you to charge your Nothing phone ‘gradually at night to keep your battery healthy in the long run’.

Overnight charging is known as Smart Charging Mode and has been elaborated now. There is a new addition called the Custom Charging Mode and it does exactly what the name implies.

There are also a couple of other new features that are present in the Nothing OS 2. Undefined On the CMF Phone 1 there are also 4 new wallpapers as well as the latest OS is updated.
