iPhone 16 series

Apple ventured into the artificial intelligence market with a new service called Apple Intelligence that it launched during last week’s WWDC 2024 event. While, during WWDC, Apple demonstrated several AI features that it would integrate into iPhones, iPads and MacBooks, these features were absent in the first developer beta released by the company a few hours later. As Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman noted, most of the Apple Intelligence features will not be available for testing until later this summer.

iPhone 16 Absence Of AI features

Also, when the service is launched with the stable build of iOS 18 in September, it will be launched as a preview that would indicate that the service is not fully optimized for regular use. Apparently, Apple Intelligence will initially be limited to a selected few of Apple uses in American English, and some users may need to wait to access some of the functionalities.

Historically, the new iOS version comes out shortly after the start of the new iPhone lineup in mid-September. However, since these devices have to be manufactured and equipped with the latest OS weeks in advance, the new features must be complete by mid-August. Since some of the new AI features are unlikely to be completed in time, Apple is likely to release them gradually in the coming several months.

Gurman also noted that most of the refreshed Siri features that Apple demonstrated at WWDC 2024 will not be available until the following year. The iOS 18 version of Siri coming with iPhone 16 is apparently to come with some new features such as new interface, type to Siri function and improved conversational ability as well as wider understanding of Apple products. Historically, a new iOS version comes out shortly after the September announcement of the new iPhone models.
