Nothing OS 2.5.6

Nothing OS launched the Nothing Phone (2) in July 2023 in the Indian market. The Nothing Phone (2) is powered by Nothing OS 2. 0 out of the box, which is based on Android 13. The company has also stated that it will provide three Android version updates and four years of bi-monthly security patch updates for the Phone (2), similar to Phone (1).

  • New feature to enable or disable the QuickSetting swipe-down page on the lock screen UI. Can be found under Settings > Lock Screen > Quick Settings.
  • New possibilities of changing icons are located in the status bar. Located under Settings > Display > Status bar.
  • Google June 2024 Security Patch integrated.

  • New Quick Settings Widget animations for better interaction.
  • Improved performance with some carrier networks.
  • Improved icons of carrier names.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented cloned apps from accessing a VPN network.
  • Refined ChatGPT integration.
  • Rectified bug that prevented lock screen widgets from showing in certain circumstances.
  • Bug where back gesture sometimes had no vibration feedback has been addressed.

ChatGPT Integration AI Feature To Nothing Phone (2a)

Nothing OS 2. 5. 5 update that is as heavy as 206MB, it has ChatGPT integration which includes ChatGPT widgets. This will be available for Phone (1) and Phone (2a) in late April. This places system-level entry points to ChatGPT, like a screenshot sharing or widgets in Nothing’s style. Nothing OS 2.5.6 enhances the performance of ai feature ChatGPT and secure from unwanted malware and bugs issue. This update refines the vulnerability from the extension of ChatGPT and give secure concern to user.

ChatGPT Integration

  • Added a new gesture option in Nothing X to start a voice conversation with ChatGPT for Nothing Ear & Nothing Ear (a). Soon for the rest of our audio devices.
  • Included new ChatGPT widgets to start ChatGPT in various modes directly from the home screen for convenience.
  • Included a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up that would allow copying the content to a new conversation in ChatGPT.

More features

  • Camera now supports Ultra XDR. To set, go to Camera settings > Ultra XDR.
  • Within the camera app Photo and Portrait Modes have an HDR switch. Toggle on or off through the icons at the top of the app.
  • Added RAM Booster feature. To set, go to Settings > System > RAM Booster.
  • New: Introduced a Ring Mode toggle in Quick Settings for convenience in sound manipulation.
  • Integrated a new Recorder widget for voice recording on the go with ease.
  • Added a new Battery widget for better tracking of power consumption.
  • Included Glyph Interface Debug Mode in the developer options list.
