POCO F6

There are only a handful of SoCs that feature an NPU in the world, and the Poco F6 is the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. Since generative AI has penetrated the smartphone market, Poco F6 has some AI functions too. But they are not as easy to find as a Samsung Galaxy; you have to crack them open before you can employ them. Like the Samsung Galaxy S24 series flagship, the POCO F6 has features such as AI image expansion and AI Eraser Pro, which were previously exclusive to expensive smartphones but are now appearing in mid-range smartphones like the Poco F6, is powered by HyperOS based on Android 14.

Unlock the generative features that are hidden on Poco F6

To enable generative AI-backed photo editing features like AI image expansion and AI Eraser Pro one needs to download an 800 MB AI editor plug-in. From the Gallery app used to edit images and videos, users can directly access the generative AI on the Poco F6. For AI Image Expansion and AI Eraser Pro, you will have to download an AI editor plugin which is around 800 MB in size. Users will then be able to use the generative AI features on the Poco F6 directly by using the image editing options available in the Gallery application.

In the same way, an image can also be expanded using generative AI. However, this feature can only work when the device is connected to the internet. Therefore, it may take a few seconds for the image to complete its task depending on the type of image.

There are also other features like AI Bokeh and the company has also confirmed that a new AI Gesture Control gesture has been added, which will let the users control the device without any physical interaction with the screen, especially while watching movies or videos.

At the moment, only photo editing is available as an AI in the Poco F6 device. In the coming days, it can bring productivity-focused AI features like the ones we see in contemporary smartphones. If you are using these features for the first time, your phone needs an active Internet connection. Once installed, they can be used to alter a photo regardless of whether the device is connected to the internet or not. But, in order to utilize some of the Pro editing features, the device needs to have an active Internet connection.
