Google released new AI-based functions for the Chromebook Plus series of devices that are writing companion, wallpaper creator, and simplified access to Google’s Gemini application. During the Google I/O event, the company presented several novelties: new functions of Al, improved models, etc. Google integrated numerous features into Maps and for spam detection during the Google I/O developer conference this month. Google is now placing the Gemini icon on the app shelf of Chromebooks.

New AI-driven features coming to Chromebook plus laptops

With new Chromebook Plus laptops, users can also try new Al features like Help me write, generative Al wallpaper, and others It is worth mentioning that Chromebook Plus laptops are primarily productivity-oriented devices with minimal system requirements. It also introduced new Chromebook Plus models from HP, Acer, and Asus.

Major New AI Features Of Chromebook

1. Help Me Write

This feature employs the use of Google AI to assist in writing on websites, PDFs, and web applications. It also allows you to write text from scratch, as well as rewrite the existing text to receive suggestions and make it better.

2. Generative AI Wallpaper and Video Call Backgrounds

As for the video calls, Chromebook Plus has facilities for backgrounds and Google has provided several call prompts that one can choose from for professionalism in video calls or for applying wallpaper on the PC.

3. Magic Editor

The Magic Editor is an additional tool in Google Photos, and at the moment, it is available in Chromebook Plus only. It allows the user to rotate, scale, and shift objects in the images hence making photo editing very simple with the use of taps. 

4. Google Gemini

Gemini will be incorporated into the home screen of Chromebook Plus and give new Chromebook Plus users a Google One AI Premium plan for free for a year. Users will be provided with up to 2TB of cloud storage and Gemini Advanced in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and the Gmail app.
