At I/O 2024, Google reported that testing for new voice appears to be underway and surprisingly Gemini Live would enable it to offer ten natural-sounding voices in place of just one, currently, the limit they have.
Since Gemini came into existence, it has used a male voice to read back responses. Although, on Android when Gemini is activating it will lead to reveal in a female voice.
However, there’s no ability showcased yet to change the voice back from the settings. And addition to this, it was only noticed the new voice in Gemini for Android, with the iOS app and web client remaining unchanged. Moreover, Google could be testing ahead for a broader launch.
Also, 12 voices that use colors for names are going to be offered by Google Assistant. Therefore the same strategy will be followed by Gemini.
