Google introduced Gemini Live during Made by Google 2024, and the company has allegedly started distributing the service on Pixel and Samsung devices with a broader distribution of the service on all Android devices planned. The icon, called Gemini Live, looks like a waveform with a sparkling symbol; it can be found in the bottom right corner of the Gemini overlay and the fullscreen app, as per 9to5Google. The user must have a Gemini Advanced account to optimize and implement such elements.
The Gemini Live interface is one of the easiest and most intuitive ones. Unfortunately, at the moment, Gemini Extensions are not available in Live mode. Still, Google has said they are working on it, so soon you will be able to control your phone or switch to other applications such as Gmail or YouTube, using voice commands.

Gemini Live rolling out on Pixel, Samsung
Gemini Live is starting to arrive to Gemini Advanced users with English-speaking Android phones, including Pixel and Samsung, and in the upcoming weeks, it is going to appear in multiple languages and iOS.
Gemini Live settings include a new option- Interrupt Live Responses – giving users the ability to interrupt the assistant. Similarly, Gemini’s voice toggle has more than 10 star and space voice choices. Both in Live and out of Live, there are the following voice options available. The voice options are:
- Nova: Calm – Middle volume
- Ursa: Involved: Mid-power language
- Vega: Bright – More higher voice than the common voice.
- Pegasus: Energised – Lower tone
- Orbit: Lively – Gravelly
- Lyra: Bright – higher voice
- Orion: Bright – Deeper voice
- Dipper: Participative – Deeper pitch
- Eclipse: Astonishingly, lively and mid-pitch voice!
- Capella: English Intonation – A higher voice.
To me though, that is one of the most interesting aspects of Gemini Live; you can even navigate out of the app to do something else on your phone or lock your screen, all while the conversation can continue. There also appears a notice that ‘mic is on’ and a button to ‘End Live mode’ if necessary. It brings a lot to the modern, conversational tone of Gemini Live.
