Smart replies that you’ve previously encountered within the Google app are now heading to Gmail on the web to support your email writing from your computer. The company also has a new shortcut called ‘Polish’ to make it easy for users to do quick touch-ups to their emails online and on mobile.
Gmail Help me write and Polish tools
Updated for the new version, the ‘Help me write’ shortcut appears if the user has no composition in the mail tab. This tool helps in developing content from the ground up. In the case of drafts with more than twelve words the option ‘Polish’ will be activated, which will help the users to enhance their text. These shortcuts can be selected by using the given option or you can type Ctrl+H for a clean more professional email.
Google said that the first shortcut is beginning to appear on the web gradually, and the second one, introduces a brand new keyboard shortcut for the Gmail mobile app in Poland, for Android and iOS. The features discussed above are only available to users who pay for Google Workspace using Any Google One AI premium subscription to a Google One AI premium subscription, a Gemini business/enterprise add-on, or a Gemini education and Education premium add-on subscription.
This update makes the mobile experience smooth. Instead of requiring the recipient to scroll through many editing options, the polish feature now enhances the message on its own. Even after the first polish, there are options for making the email even more formal including even more detail, or shortening it.
These AI writing features can only be accessed using either the Google One AI Premium or the Gemini add-on for Workspace. Google began releasing these updates today and it will take up to 2 weeks for all users to see the updates on the web version.
