A new form of artificial intelligence is set to be introduced in Fitbit which will enable its clients to go deeper into their health/fitness data. On Tuesday, the Google-owned wearable brand posted on the forum that the organization was deploying the initial use of AI to a bunch of users.
The eligible users can locate it in the Fitbit app ‘You’ tab. The last addition is known as insights explorer which uses the same functions from the Gemini to help the wearer engage in a dialogue format to learn more about what the wearable device is collecting.
Fitbit insight explorer with Gemini App
Earlier this month Fitbit reported it would be launching its new program called Fitbit Labs which lets you try out new features and give the company feedback on how it works for you. If you’re eligible, you will see this on the You page of the app: You are invited to join now or join the waitlist if the lab is closed.
Fitbit Labs’ first product is an insights explorer that leverages Google’s Gemini AI models to give you an answer to a health and wellness question. The AI should be able to explain the correlation between such factors as charts and graphs using the Fitbit data collected.
Insight Explorer feature breaks down activity, sleep, and other heart metrics that are steps, AZM, sleep score, duration of sleep, bed/awake time, deep/light/REM, and HRV and RHR.
How to access the Insight Explorer feature?
Insight Explorer is an additional feature available on the app, that is currently accessible only to the US users of Premium and available only in English. Eligible users can activate the feature by following these steps:
- On the Fitbit labs page, care must be taken to tap on the “See all” tab.
- Choose the opportunity to become an Insight Explorer member.
- When the Ubuntu system boots up, closely look at the screen and select “Lab-specific consent”.
- In the textbox below state your query or request and upon clicking on send you will be given personalized responses.
The company has now announced in a community post that the first star under the Fitbit Labs heading is now being released to selected users. It will only be available to those who have subscribed to the service in the past.
