Google is using the new file upload feature to invigorate its Gemini AI chatbots further. Users of Gemini Advanced can now share sources in their Gems for better results in documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs. This update opens a new level of customization for Gems to help with the creation of content, research, and other business tasks.
Upload up to 10 Files with Gems
Google explained that files uploaded when creating or editing a Gem will be used as content for the chatbot, which will enable it to generate appropriate answers. The company explained that thanks to the reference to uploaded files, the custom AI chatbot will be able to provide answers to questions related to the mentioned files, help with content creation, and address various business needs.
Unfortunately, to enjoy this feature, you will need to subscribe to Gemini Advanced. Once you have that, you can upload up to 10 files to your Gems, including Google Docs (gdoc,.gslides,.gdraw) and general text files (.txt,.doc,.docx,.pdf,.odt,.odp,.ods,.odt,.hwp,.hwpx, c.). Sheets, Google Sheets, and other document files; XLS, XLSX, CSV, and TSV data files.
