ChatGPT

ChatGPT was unavailable for a few hours at the starting of Tuesday. The blackout lasted nearly two and a half hours. Later, OpenAI acknowledged that “ChatGPT had a higher error rate between 11. 20 AM PT and 1.55 PM PT. ”In India, the outage started at 11. from 7. 50PM on Monday night to 2. 25AM on Tuesday morning. The outage has now been sorted. At the time of writing the story, API, ChatGPT, Labs, and Playgrounds were live and functional. This is the second time this month that the AI chatbot was offline. ChatGPT experienced another outage on June 4 this month.

Frequent outage makes ChatGPT response slow

During the outage, any try to use ChatGPT ended with a non-response or with a message saying that something went wrong when responding. The last outage of ChatGPT was on June 4. OpenAI resolved the problem almost immediately but the same day the tool became unavailable again. ChatGPT also faced some challenges in May when it suffered outages and service disruptions for four consecutive days.

OpenAI opens about the issue

According to the information, the company stated that the failure mostly affected web and mobile ChatGPT access, which caused different errors and issues for users. Initially, OpenAI’s status page attributed the downtime to internal server issues and high traffic. As much as they have since restored all services to normal, the cause of the surge in traffic was not elaborated aside from the high traffic levels witnessed during the incident. As Down Detector and OpenAI have confirmed that ChatGPT is now available again, it could be said that today’s issue has been solved. By my calculations based on OpenAI’s figures, the service appeared to be out of order for approximately two hours and thirty-five minutes in total.

ChatGPT was temporarily unavailable at approximately 11. 50PM on Monday. It took about thirty minutes before OpenAI started its investigation. The service was restored by 2. 25AM this morning. While using ChatGPT, users received no response or a message informing them about an error in generating the response during the outage. It was reported to have impacted many users globally.
