Google has surely built several ways for us to be productive in completing our work and balancing our workspace with the introduction of its AI features that make our work easier. The integration of Google Gemini, the company’s AI chatbot, into your daily life, was also announced this year during the Google I/O event.

Apart from simply visiting Gemini’s chatbot website which was known as Bard before, Google is exploring other use cases with other interactions, some of which work well at first instance but have hinted at updates in the future, likely with Google TV among others.

One of the more expanded uses of Gemini is to connect it with your Chrome browser as an extension which enables you to include Gemini as a sidebar to the browser and therefore you do not have to go to the chatbot website every time you wish to use the conversation.

It also organizes your tabs, tracks your watched flights and hotels, integrates with Google Maps and YouTube, and much more.

If you do integrate it, Gemini will be able to see your Google Drive as well as your Gmail accounts. It will be able to view documents, spreadsheets, emails, etc., to assist you in going through all these.

Does Gemini have any limitations?

Google then asks you whether it should have permission to scan the content of Google Drive and Gmail, ensuring that you are sure that is what you want. Instead of seeing only Google Documents, you can even ask Gemini what PDFs you have saved in my Google Drive. Within a few seconds, it will fill all the PDFs that you have ever saved in my Drive.

However, if the user intends to use Gemini for work-related activities, there are certainly some aspects of it that can indeed be useful. It can transcribe the content of a Google Doc or an email and also assist in categorizing files in your drive.

However, it cannot yet provide data from Google Sheets, which may be inconvenient for some users who use it often for data management and categorization.

It would be a complete game changer if it could pull data from a Google Sheet or at least something related to the Google Sheet. I typed it to request it to provide me with the address of a person in our Google Sheet.
