Android 15 Beta 3.1 update is out to solve a bug that everyone can confirm has been affecting Pixel and Its lock screen for quite some time now. The company has also fixed some of the other problems with the device and folded in a few improvements in the new firmware.
The newest beta is released for the AP31.240517.031 version number and supports the Pixel 6 series and later Pixel phones. Pixel Tablet or Pixel Fold owners can also run the 3.1 beta on your device.
Android 15 Beta 3.1 Update Fixes Major Problems
It also allows users to control other actions when the phone screen is locked; for instance, shortcuts or music controls. However, a bug was creating the device to ask for PIN or fingerprint authentication to perform such actions. Of course, this bug was quite annoying as it demanded the user unlock the device to perform actions that should not warrant this.
- Bug that made the lock screen capture touch input that goes to other screen items that do not require unlocking the device, and display the lock screen to unlock the device.
- It addressed a bug that made biometric face authentication not work sometimes.
- We have solved other problems, which affected stability, connections, and audio in the system.
Unfortunately, the key bug observed in Android 15 Beta 3 was that people could not function on their device as desired when the device was locked. On the other hand, moments when biometric face unlock did not work were noted in Android 15 beta 3. If this was not possible, they could still use a PIN, a password or a fingerprint unlock, and therefore, although it was annoying, it was not game or experience breaking.
