Reports have found out that Google is developing Circle to Search with a new feature including barcode and QR code scanning in the Google app v15.19.45.29. arm64 in beta . undefined. This will enable Circle to Search to have other roles apart from just recognizing images on the screen.
Circle to Search was initially launched with the Galaxy S24 series but was later rolled out to many Samsung phones, tablets, and Google Pixels. According to the android authority, they operates this feature on With v15.25.32
QR and barcode scan support in Circle to Search was found in the Google app version 15. The feature was manually activated with version 15. When activated, instead of merely searching for other barcodes in Google, a barcode appears on the screen. Once the code is scanned, there will be a chip beside it containing a URL or a preview of it.
Circle to Search’s QR Code Scan; how Does it work?
When the ‘Circle to Search’ function is used to search for a QR or barcode, it leads to a simple search results page that lists other seemingly similar codes.
However, with this implementation, codes are scanned, and a chip is shown right next to them containing the URL or a preview of the code, which makes it easier to explore further. It is already possible to scan barcodes or QR codes using Google Lens, so their integration into Circle to Search is not a shock.
