Recently, Solos – a company that has already presented smart glasses – introduced AirGo Vision, a new model of smart glasses that uses OpenAI’s GPT-4o LLM. Like any other AirGo Vision products, this one also has interchangeable frames meaning you can remove the camera part if you don’t need it. These smart glasses will have OpenAI’s GPT-4o AI model that can recognize objects, answer questions, and even connect with other AIs like Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude.
Smart glasses that will detect AI, how does it work
Notably, the AirGo Vision glasses will incorporate a changeable camera frame where people can interchange frames or sun shades. The glasses will also have notification LEDs from which the users will be able to know about incoming calls or emails easily and also be in a position to answer questions through audio. Although photos can be described, the same cannot be said of video recording for now. However, LED indicators help users remember notifications or act as a flash.
Pricing of the Solos AI glasses
Pricing and availability are yet to be released but just the frames will be available for about $250 next month. Solos AirGo Vision glasses are expected to be out in the market in the later part of this year but the exact date is still unknown. A non-camera version of the glasses will also be out in July for $249. However, Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses are currently dominating the tech niche with features, but the Solos are set to give them a befitting competition shortly.
If both of the smart glasses prices are compared then the Meta’s glasses start at $299 while Solos AirGo Vision is expected to cost more than $249 but the exact price has not been revealed.
