Reports suggest that Google is working on a document understanding tool for Gemini Live. According to a publication for Android Authority, the latest beta version of the Google app contains code that suggests users can import files into Gemini Advanced within Gemini Live mode.
While Gemini Advanced is already capable of accessing documents for its functions, integrating Gemini Live will add contextual and conversational AI capability to the system.
Details of this feature were unearthed in the latest APK release of the Google application, specifically beta version 15.45.33.ve.arm64, as noted by the publication.
When a file upload is detected, whether direct or from Google Drive, Gemini may alert the user to switch over to Gemini Live mode, which may in turn include options for Open Live with the attachment for more creative file interaction.
It may highlight text within the document itself and provide the answers with natural language descriptions. The strings were opened live,” “Speak about attachment,” and “Open live with attachment.” Here, ‘Live’ might refer to Gem Live, and attachments” means the files uploaded by users.
Also, Gemini Live is expected to be available only to Gemini advanced subscribers on Android devices because it’s not available on the web, and therefore only the above-mentioned viewers can upload files and ask questions about them.
