Google Gemini is said to be planning a release of a mobile application specifically for Apple iPhone. A couple of Philippines users have reported that they have found the Gemini app in the App Store. A post on reddit verifies that Gemini App spotted on iPhone users.
For instance, while getting GemAI a searcher accessible by means of the Google application, it has not had a separate application as on Android. Going by the features of this app, it seems that google is trying out this app within selected locations before going global.
Gemini Standalone App to iPhone
In a screenshot, an iPhone user in the Philippines, App Store now lists the Google Gemini app and previews of how the specific services inside the app would look like. However, this app is not available in other countries such as India and USA. However, no other user from the Philippines was able to observe the presence of Google GemAI app in Apple ’s App Store.
Currently, the standalone Google GemAI app isn’t downloadable in the US yet, which might mean that Google is still trying out the app in some countries before bringing it to the masses. The current feature set of GemAI operation on iPhone via Google app is as much identical to gemini.google.com. Google has not revamped the UI, this could come with this standalone app and bring much closer the android experience.
The standalone application would give the iPhone audience a bare bone and more profound AI assistance experience. There is not quite clear if this new app will supersede the current integration in the Google app or if both will be available. In the same way, there is no way of knowing which iPhone models or iOS versions will support the Live Activities feature completely.
The information on the App Store listing is that with the separate app, users will be able to engage in open conversation with Gemini Live, a chatbot. We can expect that in Gem Live is the Live Activity on iOS which makes it possible for Gemini Live to be active in the background as the iPhone that is being used.
