Galaxy Ring

Talking about the time Galaxy Ring was first launched, the idea of gesture control enables users to activate certain functions on their paired phone by manipulating the ring around a finger or swiping along the edge of it. However, Samsung’s gestures hold similarities just like the Galaxy Watch lineup. Users can tap the pinch with their thumb, on the finger where the ring was worn. Thereafter it activates by providing a shock when tapping a finger detectable in the ring.

Although this is not the end yet, the description follows further additions that give the Galaxy Ring a little more value. By using the Galaxy Ring gestures, two benefits are noted for the users, firstly the direct access provided to dismiss the alarm while it is going off on a Galaxy Phone. Second, users can take pictures while their camera app is open, this update is available in phones like Galaxy Fold 6 or Flip 6, as easily you can prop up the phone without any third-party involvement.

Meanwhile, being a cool feature, it somehow makes it difficult to put your hand back in a natural position before the images are captured, it lags between when the gestures are initiated and when the shutter is activated. Following up with the next thing, Galaxy Ring will only work when it is paired with a Galaxy phone. Moreover, pairing with other Androids or Pixels will be possible, but it will not provide access to this function.

Galaxy Ring: Steps to turn on gesture controls

Therefore, Samsung’s wearable app is your best friend in terms of adjusting Galaxy Ring settings. The Galaxy Ring will offer turning on the gesture controls in wearable programs not in the Samsung Health App.

  • Open the Samsung Wearable app.
  • Find and open the Galaxy Ring Page
  • Scroll down and tap Gestures
  • Turn on gestures as needed.

The Galaxy Ring is meant to be worn on the index finger, however, the other fingers also do activate this function.
