Samsung has launched its latest foldable phones- Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, they run with One UI 6.1.1 and many new features. It was reported that Samsung’s current flagship phones also going to feature One UI 6.1.1 in them. Also, Samsung has confirmed now which devices will get One UI 6.1.1 along with the potential features.
Moreover, the company plans to roll out One UI 6.1.1 before One UI 7 to all its flagship phones and tablets that were released in the last 2-3 years.
Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Flip 3 are omission from the list which got the update of One 6.1.1 with limited Galaxy features in May 2024. Samsung will reportedly going to update its devices directly to Android 15- -based One UI 7 later this year or early 2025.
The features of One UI 6.1.1 which are going to update in old Galaxy devices
According to X post of Tarun Vast, the Flip 6’s new Auto Zoom and Flex Camcorder feature will make their way towards the Flip 5 but not to the Fold 5 due to the form factor differences. However, the new Galaxy AI features like Sketch to Image, Live Effect, and Portrait Studio should be available on all Galaxy devices that get One UI 6.1.1.
Also, these features are in an underdevelopment process which will make some plans to change. Based on the company’s previous track record, the Galaxy S24 and Fold 5/Flip 5 should receive the update in August 2024.
With the recent rumors, it is known that a big camera-focused update for the Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to roll out this month and the change is One UI 6.1.1 and other Galaxy AI improvements will also tie in with them.
