ChatGPT

Several research has been conducted to reveal that the use of AI in creativity has some positive impacts, particularly on those with low creativity. The research published in the Science Advances journal shows that with the help of AI, the originality of the presented story ideas increases, as does the ‘utility’ of these stories – the possibility of generating interest among the target audience and further publication.

AI To Improve Creativity And Decrease Diversity : Study

AI makes the stories better by ‘professionalizing’ them; stating over 90% of the completed stories are fun, 75% have plot twists, and 60% are better written and considered less boring.

They participated in the research at the three different groups as discussed earlier in this paper. While some participants did not gain support from this AI, some could use ChatGPT to have a starting idea of three sentences, and others could select from the options of 1-5 AI ideas.

These stories were then rated for their quality, the criteria used were how new and how useful the stories were to 600 people.

The writers were divided into three groups; The first was restricted from using any AI in completing the story, and the second was allowed to use one idea from this prompt, plus the first three sentences of the story written by ChatGPT as a starting point. The third group was able to decide on any of up to five stories generated by the AI system.

Besides self-assessment, based on access to Open AI’s API, the degree of similarity of the stories was assessed to other works of the same genre. Therefore, the group that employed the generative AI had a high degree of similarity to the stories belonging to the same category developed by the other participants, and therefore low global diversification.

It was also found that when the relatively less creative writers performed the retained task, the novelty of the ideas they produced rose by 10 when using five AI ideas. , satisfaction by 7%, and usefulness by 11. 5% in comparison with the group that used no AI concepts at all.

However, there is a far bigger preoccupation at play – or, rather, a more extensive beneficial effect shot through with deeply queasy implications. Such embeddings, using OpenAI’s application programming interface (API), the researchers found out there was a 10. It was found out that it had a 7% similarity between the stories that incorporated one generative AI idea and the group that was writing without the help of the AI.
